Atlanta Habitat builds and sells houses, but more than that, we build communities.  Our program provides a permanent solution in the battle against substandard housing.  With widespread community support, we empower individuals to be self-sufficient homeowners.  Our program relies on investments—volunteers invest their time and physical labor to construct homes while homebuyers invest in an interest free mortgage and contribute 250 hours of sweat equity into the program. 

Homebuyers are successful thanks, in part, to Home Smart, our extensive education program.  Atlanta Habitat is one of the first affiliates in the nation to require that homebuyers attend educational classes teaching strategies to be successful homeowners.  Classes cover subjects such as security, home maintenance, budgeting, community involvement, landscaping and much more.
